Essay Theme: Is Youth Truly Building the Future the Nations Need?

Our world has faced countless conflicts through history that have menaced entire nations, societies, and the future. However, the world is still standing thanks to an essential element that can be considered as a silent but significant weapon to combat the most difficulties: the minds of youth.  In an era of new ideals and perspectives, which has brought new challenges with it, the world looks up to young people to take advantage of the power they have to create a new and better world, coexistence and time ahead. Are the leaders of tomorrow really on the right track to use their energy as fuel for changes, explore, find their true selves, and most importantly, to build the democratic future the nations need?

The beautiful places we see are made by architects, who mix creativity and knowledge to create functional, safe, and comfortable places. Nevertheless, they need the help of engineers who use curiosity, small details and teamwork to build efficient and sustainable projects. Both are somehow different, but they need each other to accomplish their common goals. Young people have to put themselves in the shoes of architects and engineers, to work with each other to start bringing to life a better place to live in.

 

Is youth becoming the clueless tourists that observe a great creation or the architects and engineers who stand out for their great creation and their aim for shaping the world the youngest generation deserves?

Tema del Ensayo: ¿Está la Juventud Realmente Construyendo el Futuro que las Naciones Necesitan?

"El futuro pertenece a nuestra juventud. Mientras algunos de nosotros nos acercamos al final de nuestras carreras políticas, los jóvenes deben tomar el relevo." - Nelson Mandela.

Nuestro mundo ha enfrentado innumerables conflictos a lo largo de la historia que han amenazado a naciones enteras, sociedades y el futuro. Sin embargo, el mundo sigue en pie gracias a un elemento esencial que puede considerarse como un arma silenciosa pero significativa para combatir las mayores dificultades: las mentes de los jóvenes. En una era de nuevos ideales y perspectivas, que ha traído consigo nuevos desafíos, el mundo mira hacia los jóvenes para que aprovechen el poder que tienen para crear un mundo nuevo y mejor, con una mejor convivencia y un futuro por delante. ¿Están los líderes del mañana realmente en el camino correcto para usar su energía como combustible para el cambio, explorar, encontrarse a sí mismos y, lo más importante, construir el futuro democrático que las naciones necesitan?

Los hermosos lugares que vemos están hechos por arquitectos, quienes mezclan creatividad y conocimiento para crear espacios funcionales, seguros y cómodos. Sin embargo, necesitan la ayuda de ingenieros que utilizan la curiosidad, los pequeños detalles y el trabajo en equipo para construir proyectos eficientes y sostenibles. Ambos son de alguna manera diferentes, pero se necesitan mutuamente para lograr sus objetivos comunes. Los jóvenes deben ponerse en los zapatos de arquitectos e ingenieros, para trabajar juntos y comenzar a dar vida a un lugar mejor para vivir.

¿Está la juventud convirtiéndose en los turistas despistados que observan una gran creación o en los arquitectos e ingenieros que destacan por su gran obra y su objetivo de moldear el mundo que la generación más joven merece?

Theme: The Impact of Social Media on Human Connection.

​

“Social media is about sociology and psychology more than technology.” -Brian Solís.

​

Social media has quickly transformed how we communicate with each other and the outside world. We may connect with each other and create worldwide communities by sharing our lives in real time on social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. From the comfort of our screens, we can remain friends, learn new viewpoints, and feel a part of something greater.

Beneath this simplicity of use for technology, though, is a complicated question: Is social media making us feel more connected, or is it just making us feel more disconnected? Are the richness and genuineness of in-person encounters being lost as we speak through emoticons and read through meticulously maintained feeds?

 

This subject explores social media's dual nature, looking at its ability to bring people together as well as their capacity to drive them apart. With this in mind, we hope that passionate and creative artists are able to explore the impacts behind the screen in order to dive deeper into how this impacts humanity and how it could affect the future of our society.

Guidelines

• Submission of a PDF titled: Delegate Name - Title of Artwork - Committee. Send a good quality photo of your artwork and include a 150-200 word description of it.

• 2D and 3D creations are accepted. You can use oils, watercolor, acrylics, clay, photography, etc.

• Digital artwork is accepted.

• Submit one art piece per delegate.

• Videos/GIFS are not allowed.

• 2D work: Minimum 20x20cm and maximum 40x50cm.

• 3D work: Minimum 20x20x20cm and maximum 40x40x40cm.

• Artworks need to be brought to the conference, and an exposition will be held.

Las redes sociales han transformado rápidamente la manera en que nos comunicamos entre nosotros y con el mundo exterior. A través de plataformas como Facebook, Instagram y TikTok, podemos conectarnos y crear comunidades globales compartiendo nuestras vidas en tiempo real. Desde la comodidad de nuestras pantallas, podemos mantener amistades, aprender nuevas perspectivas y sentirnos parte de algo más grande.

​

Sin embargo, detrás de esta facilidad tecnológica surge una pregunta compleja: ¿Nos hacen sentir más conectados las redes sociales, o simplemente nos hacen sentir más desconectados? ¿Se está perdiendo la riqueza y autenticidad de los encuentros en persona al comunicarnos mediante emoticones y leer a través de perfiles meticulosamente curados?

​

Este tema explora la naturaleza dual de las redes sociales, analizando su capacidad tanto para unir a las personas como para separarlas. Con esto en mente, esperamos que artistas apasionados y creativos puedan explorar los impactos detrás de la pantalla para profundizar en cómo esto afecta a la humanidad y cómo podría influir en el futuro de nuestra sociedad.

Instrucciones

• Envía un PDF titulado: Nombre del Delegado - Título de la Obra - Comité. Incluye una foto de buena calidad de tu obra de arte y una descripción de 150-200 palabras.

• Se aceptan creaciones en 2D y 3D. Puedes usar óleo, acuarela, acrílicos, arcilla, fotografía, etc.

• Se acepta arte digital.

• Envío de una obra por delegado.

• No se permiten videos/GIFS.

• Obras 2D: Mínimo 20x20 cm y máximo 40x50 cm.

• Obras 3D: Mínimo 20x20x20 cm y máximo 40x40x40 cm.

• Las obras deben ser llevadas a la conferencia, donde se realizará una exposición.
